A language laboratory is a system that transforms a passive language class into an active speaking-based learning environment. This helps the language teacher to save a substantial amount of time and manage their language learning activities by using the target language. Usually, when using language laboratories, the teaching focus shifts to using audio-visual teaching aids instead of teaching the second language through textbooks and grammar rules. The language lab concept has been the most prominent application to use technology to enhance English and foreign language teaching methods in our formal education sector.

The purpose of a language lab is to involve students in actively participating in language learning exercises and getting more practice time. It focuses on language skills and efficiently develops the skill in English. LSRW skills are very important for learning any foreign language. When students listen to new words through language lab software, they can grasp them easily due to the clarity of speech.

The Language lab software will be beneficial in these ways:

• It facilitates one to conduct courses for different groups.
• It helps learners to learn pronunciations, accent, and all other aspects of pronunciations.
• It is helpful for effective communicative training programs.
• All courses are online and paperless.
• It will be helpful for competitive exams such as Olympiads.

The language lab consists of the following components:

• A server computer is installed to store all the information about the software.
• Software works on the Local Area Network.
• Students have audio and video facilities.
• Students and teachers are provided with headsets for conversation.

In our college, G.P. Siwan, the language lab software has been implemented in 64 systems since the year 2021. All the facilities mentioned above are available in our language lab. The environment of the language lab is impactful and effective for the learners of this esteemed institution.

Learners of this institution can learn three types of accents - British, American, and Indian. They are provided with self-access for independent learning and the facility of interactive video lessons. Through the language lab, any text, image, audio, and video can be easily integrated, and it also provides a recording facility for revision purposes. By utilizing the language lab, students can enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, which will act as a propeller of the telescope to help them envision a bright future.
